Live2D Head Angle Workflow Example
A downloadable project
This is an example of my current head angle workflow for Live2D.
The focus for this file is on the workflow itself and warp deformer hierarchy, so there are minimal additional parameters outside of the head angles. In general I would consider this file recommended more so for intermediate to advanced riggers who are looking to try out another workflow.
This workflow makes use of the new 3D expression tool added in Live2D 5.1, and has a hierarchy setup that encourages horizontal consistency and reduces the amount of corrective work for corners (outside of the base of the head). The 3D expression tool is mostly used to get an initial deformer with tilt and slight perspective. I also show usage of gluing the neck to the head, making correction for neck angles limited in necessity.
Note: This is not a complete example of face rigging. I have a few simple things rigged for the purpose of showing how the head angles would work in regards to them.
The face movements that are rigged in this file are as follows:
- Eye Open, Eyeball XY, Brow Y, Mouth Open/Closed (via texture swaps), Mouth X
General Guidelines
1. Only use for learning/studying purposes. It is OK to reference this file, but please do not copy and paste deformers from this project onto your own. It is not permitted to use this project data to create a template project.
2. Do not use as your own VTuber model or draw on top of it to make your own model art.
3. You can add new parts/PSDs onto the model for learning/studying purposes. Do not attach anything hateful.
4. Do not redistribute or re-sell the model. Do not share the links of the video recordings to others, or reupload the video recordings.
5. If showing the project on stream or in a video, credit me and link back to this page. It is ok to have the workflow recording on
